Beckman Coulter Life Sciences Announces 2021 Global Genomics Grant Recipients

Five Researchers to Receive Products and Training for Research

(Indianapolis, IN – May 20, 2021) Investing in a healthier future for everyone, Beckman Coulter Life Sciences announces the winners of its 2021 SPRI Grants for Genomic Research.

Five recipients around the world have been chosen based on criteria that included their research objective, genomic reagent request, and how the product would be used in the field of research.

Recipients will receive $5,000 worth of Beckman Coulter Life Sciences genomics products along with 12 hours of application support. The winners and their product awards are:

  • Carina Graham, University College London, who will receive AMPure XP PCR Purification Reagent kits and SPRIselect PCR Purification and Cleanup Reagent kits for researching a novel cystic fibrosis treatment.
  • Praveensingh Hajeri, University of Minnesota, who will receive RNAClean XP RNA and cDNA Cleanup Reagent kits for work on novel methods to investigate RNA and DNA inside viral particles which could help in improving viral particle packaging conditions and capacity.
  • Anders Lade Nielsen, Aarhus University Denmark, who will receive Apostle MiniMaxTM High Efficiency Cell-Free DNA Isolation Kits for work on researching new cancer molecular diagnostic tools.
  • Jalish Riyad, ICAHN School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, who will receive RNAdvance Viral Cleanup Reagent kits for work on studying gene therapy vectors.
  • Zong Wei, Mayo Clinic, who will receive AMPure XP PCR Purification Reagent kits and SPRIselect PCR Purification and Cleanup Reagent kits for work on novel models to study diabetes and metabolism.

A total of 235 applications were received. A call for 2022 submissions for the SPRI Grants for Genomic Research is expected to be issued in the fall of 2021.
